The school has identified issues with managing the flow of pupils in the morning and afternoon peak times as the existing staircase was not sufficient to meet capacity.

In response, DHA carried out a complete assessment of all the existing staircase and circulation spaces in order to determine the needs of the school could be met, including pupil routing and means of escape provision.

The staircase was manufactured off-site and assembled during the school term. A number of constraints on site were overcome, including a requirement to bridge over existing drainage runs in the space.
